Welcome to the 3rd week of this school year! The first two weeks of school may have been a bit overwhelming for every one, for both new and existing students. We’re all still testing the water on how this school year will play out; from the amount of schoolwork and study time we need to put in to achieve a successful year.
On Orientation Day as well as Club Days, many students had such high enthusiasm about the different clubs that BCIT has to offer. Enactus BCIT alone had 165 student sign up in one day! I applaud our amazing Executive and Project Manager Team for a job well done in terms of recruitment and promoting Enactus BCIT.
Last Wednesday, September 18th, We held our first General Meeting after school. We had such an amazing turn out that we had to move our meeting from a regular sized classroom to the Telus Theatre Lecture Hall. Amazing right? However, we did face some technical difficulties and we were unable to provide the contact information about our Project Managers and what projects they run. Although our first meeting did not go as smoothly as we planned, we were still able to talk and get to know many students right after. It felt great seeing how many students from all across different programs and faculties were interested in our projects. As an accounting student, I was asked by a number of students in first year accounting how Enactus BCIT helped me strengthen my skills and the things I learned when I was in their shoes. I simply answered, “There are too many ways. I can tell you about it now, or you can experience it yourself in the process of being an Enactor. But take it from someone who’s been there, it’s something you have to experience.”
