When you think of a library, you probably picture shelves of books. While BCIT Library Services offers books, laptops, phone chargers, portable battery packs, calculators, and course reserves, that is only part of the story. The library is designed to support your success from your first day on campus to graduation. Whether you need a quiet place to study, help with an assignment, or access to the latest technology, you’ll find resources and services to help you every step of the way.
Looking to save money on textbooks?
Through BCIT’s Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) initiative, an increasing number of courses use free learning resources instead of traditional textbooks. Before registering for a course, you can check the course outline to see if it is marked as Zero Textbook Cost.
Finding the right study space can make all the difference
Choose from quiet and silent study areas, individual study carrels, collaborative spaces, or book a study room with presentation monitors for group work and practice sessions. Relax in the Zen Zone, catch up on sleep in one of the Sleep Pods, or study anytime in the ehPod, which is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week during the academic year, excluding the summer term. Whether you want to study, read, meditate, practise yoga, or simply take a break, check out The Den, a new initiative located on the main floor of SE14 in Room 206 that provides a welcoming home away from home for everyone.

Beyond research support, the library provides access to thousands of e-books, journals, databases, technical standards, streaming media, research guides, and materials from other libraries through interlibrary loan. Most of these resources are available on the library website and can be accessed from anywhere, making it easy for students to study both on and off campus.

MediaWorks gives you access to creative technologies, including 3D printing, virtual and augmented reality, multimedia production spaces, and expert support. You can also borrow audio-visual equipment to create professional-quality presentations and projects.
