Ahh another day at the tents on the corner of West Georgia and Hamilton. Vancouver Fashion Week continues and I really should’ve taken my own advice from my survival guide.. You see, I was plagued with dead phone syndrome and without-a-chargerness and was unable to update you all with my ever so lovely social media posts towards the end of the night. Well that’s why you’re here of course, to catch up on my witty coverage of Day 2 at Vancouver Fashion Week!
Tonight’s shows were overshadowed by the crazy, outlandish, and borderline threatening makeup looks. Makeup can make or break your look, so each show places considerable value on it’s makeup looks! Check out some of my favourites below, courtesy of makeup artist Natalie Prasad! If you’re looking to contact her for your services, email her at makeupbynatalieprasad@gmail.com
Smokey Eyes
Smokey eyes were all the rage on the runway this season and I totally loved it! The dramatic look added some much needed pop to bland clothing and makeup artist Natalie Prasad creates a head turning look for each of these models! When I don a smokey eye, I like to use the Smashbox “Cherry Smoke Photo Op Eye Shadow Palette“ to create my look!
Double Winged Liner
Winged liner is a staple in the fashion industry and at Vancovuer Fashion Week, I consistently saw models rocking some wings! Makeup artist Natalie Prasad gave this model a double winged liner on her top and bottom lid! I personally SWEAR by the Stilla “Stay All Day“ waterproof liquid eye liner for this type of look!
Neutral Gold Eyes and Bright Lips
This designer opted for a more subtle look to be paired with her collection and make up artist Natalie Prasad, definitely delivered! I love the shiny gold eyes with gold liner, it makes the model’s brilliant blue eyes look amazing! The bright pink lip isn’t too in your face but adds colour to the model’s face! If you’re looking for this gold eyeshadow, check out the “Naked Palette“ by Urban Decay!
Dark Lips & Some Weird Caterpillars
Fashion week means designers can get really creative about how they present their line. It typically isn’t about commercial viability, but showing the world how they look at fashion. Dark lips and crazy brows accented the neutral looks for this show. Not something that you would see while walking down the street, but on the runway, it’s perfect! If you’re looking for dark lipsticks check out “Lingering Kiss“ at Mac!
